Rec. Level 1/2
This 60-minute (once per week) introductory class exposes students to
foundational gymnastics skills, body form & positions, strength, and
flexibility. Students progress at their own pace on all four Olympic
apparatus (Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor) and well as TumblTrak. Major
skills required for promotion to the next level include (but are not limited
to):
- Vault: Run-Hurdle-Straight Jump-Stick
- Bars: Back Pullover (utilizing a wedge mat), Cast-Back-Hip Circle
- Beam: Candlestick, Stretch Jumps, Stretch Jump Dismounts
- Floor: Backward Roll, Cartwheel, Bridge
rec. level 3/4
This 90-minute (once per week) class is designed to slightly increase the
training intensity placed on students while allowing them to continue to
progress at their own pace. New skills are introduced and skills
previously mastered in Rec. Level 1/2 are polished. Major skills required
for promotion to the next level include (but are not limited to):
- Vault: Handstand on Springboard-Tree Fall to 16' Mat
- Bars: Chin-Up Pullover, Cast-Squat On, Single Knee Up Rise
- Beam: Forward Roll, Handstand
- Floor: Vertical Handstand, Backward Pike Roll, Backbend-Kickover
rec. level 5/6
This 90-minute (twice per week) class is geared towards introducing students
to the skills necessary for our Compulsory Level 3 Team Program without the
stress and anxiety of competition. Major skills required for promotion to
the next level or for invitation to our Competition include (but are not limited
to):
- Vault: 7 Running Steps-Hurdle-Punch to Handstand-Tree Fall
- Bars: Chin-Up Pullover, Forward/Backward Leg Cuts, Mill Circle
- Beam: Handstand, Split Jump, Side Handstand Dismount
- Floor: Handstand Forward Roll, Round-Off, Split Leap
