Gymnastics Instructor: MBG Instructors should believe in teaching through positive reinforcement, with an emphasis on making a wonderful experience for each of their students. Instructors can teach Preschool or Recreational (School-Age) classes or a combination of both. Strong candidates are teachers with good time management skills who can keep the class energized and moving while making sure each child receives the individual attention necessary to progress.
Advanced Recreational Instructor/Competitive Team Coach: In addition to all the same qualities as a Gymnastics Instructor, our Advanced Recreational Instructor/Competitive Team Coaches should have additional gymnastics coaching or instructing experience working with advanced gymnasts. Our competitive gymnasts compete at various levels within the USAG program in Alabama as well as the Southeast. Familiarity with advanced skills, drills, conditioning exercises, and technique is a definite plus.
Summer Camp Instructor: Camp Instructors should have all the same qualities as a Gymnastics Instructor in addition to the ability to work with kids in an extended class format. Our Summer Camp program is typically run the end of May through early August Monday-Friday. Camp Instructors teach gymnastics skills with scheduled breaks for craft, snack, game time and lunch throughout the day. Qualified candidates should be comfortable working with a group of up to 10 children between 3-6 hours at a time
Special Events Staff: Special Events staff are fun and energetic individuals with the ability to safely lead children of varying skill levels through the gym. Strong candidates are teachers with good time management skills who can keep their party group energized and moving with the ability to engage each child during what could most likely be their very first introduction to gymnastics and Mountain Brook Gymnastics! In addition, qualified candidates must be able to interact with parents attending the party as well as set-up, serve food, and clean-up at the end. Almost all of our Special Events are held on Saturdays and Sundays
Many of our staff members wear multiple hats or began in one position and transitioned to another. If you’re interested in multiple positions, please let us know in your email. We welcome enthusiasm and a desire to learn and grow and encourage individual as well as professional growth. We can't wait to hear from you.
At Mountain Brook Gymnastics, we believe in hiring people not positions and are always interested in hiring a qualified candidate regardless of current openings. A fun, energetic, and kind personality is a must, and though a background in gymnastics is a plus, it is not required for many of our positions. At MBG, we teach gymnastics with a focus on building character as well as increasing strength, flexibility, cognitive and locomotor skills, and overall fitness of all our gymnasts from the Tumble Buddy 2s, to the advanced recreational and team gymnasts. If our mission lines up with your goals and you're a positive, fun, energetic individual who loves working with kids and their families, please email us a cover letter and resume detailing your experience, why you think you'd be a good fit at MBG, and what position(s) you're most interested in to: firstname.lastname@example.org Or you can print an application here below.
